Fly Like a Girl was founded by Amanda Kandawire, an airline pilot with close to two decades of experience in the aviation industry who understands firsthand what it means to navigate aviation without a roadmap or enough people who look like you in the flight deck.

Throughout her journey, Amanda saw a recurring pattern:

talented, capable women entering aviation without access to the guidance, mentorship, and support they deserved.

Fly Like a Girl was created to bridge that gap.

This initiative is grounded in real experience, not theory, offering honest insight into flight training, airline careers, and the realities of being a woman in aviation.
